Take the double-decker bus to Bonehenge!
At the Bonehenge Whale Center, visitors will walk beneath a pair of massive right whale mandibles and explore whale skeletons in various stages of preparation. Guests will have the chance to handle baleen, teeth, large bones, and even experience the texture and scent of whale oil.
North Carolina’s remarkable whale diversity is highlighted, with 34 species found in local waters. The visit includes an overview of whale biology, conservation, and research, along with examples that address key issues such as entanglement, ship strikes, and plastic pollution.
Interactive activities include mystery boxes, a dolphin dorsal fin photo-ID game, quizzes, and more. The Bonehenge portion of the excursion is expected to last approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
Participants must be 12 years or older.
