Did you know many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees? Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and spouses. To find out if your company offers this program, contact your Human Resources Department, and you may be able to double, or even triple, the impact of your gift! Contributions of any amount help us with our preservation efforts, and we are grateful for your generosity.
Celebrate a significant occasion, remember a loved one, commemorate a milestone, or recognize someone special with an honorary or memorial gift to the Beaufort Historical Association. Honorary and memorial gifts are a wonderful way to give tribute to family members, friends, or colleagues and their enthusiasm for preserving and protecting the architectural, historical and cultural character of Beaufort. Whether you make your gift online, by mail or by phone, tax receipts are provided to all donors and notifications will be sent to those designated by a donor.
David Wightman Memorial Fund
This special Memorial Fund was created by friends and family of David Wightman in remembrance of David’s love of Beaufort and the English double decker bus. The fund supports the ongoing care and maintenance of the Beaufort Historical Association’s 1968 English Double Decker Bus. An excellent mechanic, David formerly lived in England and drove one of these famous buses before assisting the Beaufort Historical Association with maintenance issues on its own vintage bus.
Beaufort Historical Foundation Endowment
Established in 1986, the Beaufort Historical Foundation was established as a separate 501-c3 non-profit for investment funds for the sole purpose of the support of the Beaufort Historical Association for special needs and ongoing support of the maintenance of the buildings on the two-acre Beaufort Historic Site.
There are a variety of ways that individuals may support the Beaufort Historical Foundation: through an outright gift of cash or a check, publicly traded securities, real estate, tangible personal property, or corporate matching gifts. In addition, there are other planned giving options: irrevocable gifts that provide life income to donors, including gift annuities, charitable remainder annuity trusts, and pooled income; and revocable gifts that include wills, life insurance policies, and retirement and pension plans. Contact your financial advisor or the BHA office at 252.728.5225 for detailed information on the Foundation’s Endowment Account.
