Take the double-decker bus to Bonehenge. Inside Bonehenge Whale Center, visitors will walk under a pair of right whale mandibles (lower jaws) and see skeletons of different whale species in various stages of preparation. They will handle baleen, teeth, large bones, and can smell/feel whale oil. I will briefly discuss NC’s impressive whale diversity (34 species!) as well as a bit about biology, conservation, and research. I will also show examples that address the conservation issues of entanglement, ship strikes, and ingestion of plastic debris. Visitors can play some of the interactive challenges (mystery boxes, dolphin dorsal fin photo-ID game, quizzes, etc.) we are setting up inside. The Bonehenge part of the excursion would likely take 30-40 minutes. Must be older than 12 years old.
Limit 12 Fee: $20
