    An old-fashioned flea market on the Beaufort Historic Site with vendors selling antiques and collectibles, art, crafts, handmade jewelry, books, food and more. No admission charge.   • Beaufort, Books, & Bubbles (April 30th, 3:30 – 5:00 pm)

    Join the Beaufort Historical Association in a special toast to the release of Kristy Woodson Harvey’s new book, The Wedding Veil, on Saturday, April 30, from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. The event is free and will be held at the Beaufort Historic Site at 130 Turner Street. Attendees will be able to enjoy a refreshing beverage, meet Harvey, purchase a copy of The Wedding Veil, and have it personalized. Kristy Woodson Harvey is a local New York Times best-selling author who has been featured in The Washington Post and USA Today, among other national publications. She is well-known for her Peachtree Bluff Series, which follows the life of the Murphy sisters in their home of Peachtree Bluff, a fictional town based on Beaufort, North Carolina. Harvey’s new book, The Wedding Veil, is the story of four generations of women who are all bound by one family heirloom, a beautiful wedding veil, which has a secret connection that will change their lives – and history as they know it – a veil tied to the famous Vanderbilt family.   • Quilters’ Guild – Learn to Quilt!

    Come learn how to quilt or fine tune your quilting skills with Ms. Nancy Smith. Nancy Smith is a master at quilting that will be demonstrating the art of quilting.  She has been quilting for many years and is part of the Quilters' Guild of NC. Please join us as she shows the various ways she uses her talent. She will have a sample kit for each participant. Materials fee is $20. Class max is 10. Must sign up a week out in advance in person at 130 Turner Street or by calling 252-728-5225. All Beaufort Historic Site events are subject to change.

  • 61st Annual Old Homes Tour & More

    The Old Homes Tour will take place on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th from 10 am - 5 pm. This annual tour features some of Beaufort’s beautiful private homes, glorious gardens, multiple local churches and artists’ studios throughout the town, as well as the authentically-restored buildings and grounds of the Beaufort Historic Site. Tour tickets are $20 and are available online or in at the Beaufort Historic Site Welcome Center (130 Turner St.). Gorgeous homes and quaint gardens will be featured on this year’s tour, along with accompanying events. Other events throughout the week include: The Old Homes Tour Kickoff Party/Bartender's Challenge, in conjunction with an Art Show for Old Homes Tour Featured Artist Hunter Stephenson at the Mattie King Davis Art Gallery (June 4th 4-6 pm), a Literary Luncheon (June 22), the Joy of Living Floral Event (June 22), and a Sunday Brunch (June 26) in a beautiful garden at a private Beaufort home. “We are excited to be back in full swing with the Old Homes Tour this year,” Executive Director Patricia Suggs said.  “This is a really special time when homeowners generously open their homes and show our visitors what southern hospitality is all about!”   […]

    We are excited to welcome back one of Beaufort’s best parties, the BHA’s annual Summer Party! We cannot wait to see all of our friends, including the Scarborough Fare Catering team, who will be slinging drinks and whipping up delicious food all night long.   • Advanced Pine Needle Basket Workshop

    Learn how to make your own Pine Needle Basket with Ms. Penny Holland!  The class will be held three different times: May 6, July 22 (advanced session), and September 16. Pine needle basket-making dates back to almost 9,000 years ago and the baskets served as a vessel for grain, crops, and other essentials. The price for materials is $50 for each class. All supplies provided. Bring bag lunch. Must sign up by calling 252-728-5225 or visiting the Beaufort Historic Site at 130 Turner Street. Sign up ends a week before each class. Max for each class is 10. All Beaufort Historic Site Events are subject to cancellation and or change.

  • Gingerbread Workshop (WAITLIST OPEN)

    The workshop is officially full, join the waitlist by calling 252-728-5225.  Parents, bring your child Saturday, December 3 at 9 a.m. to decorate a pre-built gingerbread house!  We will have all the goodies and icing to decorate in style!  They will be able to take them home with them afterwards.  Each child needs to be able to follow directions and work independently.   • Publick Day

    On Saturday, April 15 from 9 – 4 p.m., The Beaufort Historic Site will kick off the spring season with the annual Publick Day event on the grounds at 130 Turner Street. The Site will transform into an open-air marketplace, welcoming visitors to explore the vast array of goods and items for sale from various vendors. “Publick Times” dates back to the Colonial period and is fashioned after Williamsburg of the 1700s when the General Court was in session. "Publick Times" gave visitors an opportunity to come to town to see and be seen, conduct court business, shop, gossip, dine and dance.  Guests who attend Publick Day can expect to find a variety of vendors selling antiques, vintage finds, collectibles, crafts and more. Vendor space is available.  Applications are being accepted to rent a 10’ x 10’ space for $35 if you are a BHA member and $50 for non-members. Space is first-come, first served, and the event is held rain or shine. Spaces are non-refundable. Vendors must supply their own tables and tent if needed.
