Since 1960, the Beaufort Historical Association has held an annual Old Homes Tour in June to celebrate the rich history of Beaufort. The Old Homes Tour & More offers locals and visitors the perfect opportunity to explore a variety of homes, gardens, churches, art stops, and studios. The Old Homes Tour has always brought community – both near and far – together. It welcomes thousands who return year after year to enjoy the tour and the many accompanying events as well as the countless attractions, amenities, and activities Beaufort has to offer.
Celebrating its 65th anniversary, the Old Homes Tour & More is a time of community involvement when Beaufort residents proudly open their homes to support BHA’s ongoing preservation and educational programs. The event is the largest annual fundraiser for the Beaufort Historical Association.
A Year of Firsts
As Beaufort grows into a town of old and new, The Old Homes Tour & More also expands its scope. In addition to exploring historic homes and gardens with all their warmth of centuries old character, two Waypoint Hubs have been added: The 805 Mulberry Condominiums/Mainsail Event Space (newly restored and repurposed from the old Beaufort Graded School and Gym), and five new homes in the Beau Coast neighborhood. Each stop on the tour captures the Southern Hospitality of Beaufort, honoring American and local history while also showcasing the future as new generations call it home.
In addition to historic places, private homes, churches, and gardens, the tour will also include several art stops and galleries as well as a charming wine and flower shop. Accompanying events offer guests a week full of activities that appeal to lovers of books, history, music, wine and spirits, and gardens. Our 2026 Old Homes Tour & More Featured Artist is Nicole White Kennedy. Her new works highlight many delightful local scenes. Be sure to visit her show at the Mattie King Davis Art Gallery during the Old Homes Tour & More or at the Kickoff Party & Bartenders Challenge – you may not resist taking a piece of art home with you!
Private Homes and Gardens
are open Friday and Saturday, June 26 & 27 from 10:00am – 4:00pm.

Special Bonus Event
To commemorate the opening of the newly restored and repurposed Mulberry Site Condominium Homes and the Mainsail Event Center, the Beaufort Historical Association is hosting a reception celebration for the community on Saturday, June 27 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm in The Mainsail (old gym). This special heritage event will honor town residents who were students at the former campus or taught and administrated there. We will celebrate the old high school era Seadogs spirit that cheered on their basketball team through 91 straight wins in the 1950s and 1960s whose record still stands as the “winningest” boys basketball team in North Carolina history! No ticket required. All curious to see the renovated gym complete with Seadogs memorabilia, decor and legacy trophies from bygone days are invited to attend the reception.
