Bonehenge Excursion (NOW FULL)

Join the Beaufort Historical Association and embark on a special excursion to the Bonehenge Whale Center in Historic Beaufort! The excursion will take place on Wednesday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m., will cost $15 per person, and will be limited to 12 people, so be sure to reserve your spot today by calling 252-728-5225!
All will meet at the Beaufort Historic Site, located at 130 Turner Street, and hop aboard the Historic 1987 English Double-Decker Bus where a narrator will share the history of Beaufort and how the area was once a whaling community. Once at the Bonehenge Whale Center participants will receive a guided tour and learn more about whales and conservation. They also will have the chance to handle bones, teeth, and more.
The Bonehenge Whale Center is “a facility from which to base research, exhibit preparation and display, marine conservation, educational programming, outreach, publications, and stranded specimen collection & maintenance that focus on NC cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and porpoises), past and present.” The center, built by volunteers, was funded by a charitable non-profit via a grassroots fundraiser and opened in September of 2021.
