Harvest Time
October 4-7, 11-14 from 9 am to noon
The Beaufort Historic Site will host Harvest Time again this year on the site grounds at 130 Turner Street. This annual event demonstrates the life of Beaufort families in the 1700s and 1800s through activities such as food preservation, where children will learn about herbs and techniques such as drying and smoking meat, candle dipping (seen below) where children will get to take home the candle they create, woodworking which involves shingle making and corn harvesting techniques demonstrated on site.
Harvest Time is offered to public, private and home school classes in Carteret and the surrounding counties. For more information on this event or to reserve a space, stop by the Beaufort Historic Site Welcome Center at 130 Turner Street, call 252-728-5225 or email officemanager@beauforthistoricsite.org
