SUMMARY:American Flag Retirement Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:It may come as a surprise to many\, but one of the proper and respectful methods of retiring a tattered or damaged American flag is by burning it. During our ceremony\, the flag is carefully cut into pieces and each section is burned in a specific order\, beginning with the stripes and ending with the blue field. This free event will take place outdoors on the Historic Grounds and will begin at 5:30 PM on June 14 in honor of Flag Day.
