DESCRIPTION:The Mattie King Davis Art Gallery is excited to welcome Durham artist\, Tony Alderman\, this coming August. The opening will be held at the gallery on Friday\, August 4 from 4:00 – 6 p.m. Alderman will be the featured artist from August 4 to August 19.  Alderman’s show will feature 20 beautiful paintings showcasing the preservation of North Carolina Coastal heritage. DESCRIPTION:Area canvas rugs\, today known as floor cloth\, had their start in 18th century England. Initially used by the wealthy\, the designs and patterns mimicked parquet flooring\, tile\, and marble. Make your own floor cloth in a workshop led by Donna Hagerty.
