DESCRIPTION:** Class is NOW FULL\, join the waitlist by calling 252-728-5225**\n\nLearn how to make your own Pine Needle Basket with Ms. Penny Holland!  The class will be held three different times: May 6\, July 22 (advanced session)\, and September 16.\n\nPine needle basket-making dates back to almost 9\,000 years ago and the baskets served as a vessel for grain\, crops\, and other essentials. The price for materials is $50 for each class. All supplies provided. Bring bag lunch. Must sign up by calling 252-728-5225 or visiting the Beaufort Historic Site at 130 Turner Street. Sign up ends a week before each class. Max for each class is 10.\n\nAll Beaufort Historic Site Events are subject to cancellation and or change.

SUMMARY:Bonehenge Excursion (NOW FULL)
DESCRIPTION:NOW FULL CALL TO JOIN WAITLIST 252-728-5225\n\nJoin the Beaufort Historical Association and embark on a special excursion to the Bonehenge Whale Center in Historic Beaufort! The excursion will take place on Wednesday\, September 28 at 10:30 a.m.\, will cost $15 per person\, and will be limited to 12 people\, so be sure to reserve your spot today by calling 252-728-5225!\n\nAll will meet at the Beaufort Historic Site\, located at 130 Turner Street\, and hop aboard the Historic 1987 English Double-Decker Bus where a narrator will share the history of Beaufort and how the area was once a whaling community. Once at the Bonehenge Whale Center participants will receive a guided tour and learn more about whales and conservation. They also will have the chance to handle bones\, teeth\, and more.\nThe Bonehenge Whale Center is “a facility from which to base research\, exhibit preparation and display\, marine conservation\, educational programming\, outreach\, publications\, and stranded specimen collection & maintenance that focus on NC cetaceans (whales\, dolphins\, and porpoises)\, past and present.” The center\, built by volunteers\, was funded by a charitable non-profit via a grassroots fundraiser and opened in September of 2021.\n\nDon’t miss your chance to explore the Bonehenge Whale Center and learn more about Beaufort and the Crystal Coast’s rich history!
