SUMMARY:Voices of the Past
DESCRIPTION:A special Old Burying Ground Tour will take place on Saturday\, November 2 at 4:00\, 4:30\, and 5:00 p.m. The tour will bring to life the stories of those who have long passed and have been laid to rest in the Old Burying Ground. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for ages 6-12\, and will be available for purchase in the Old Beaufort Shop until sold out. \nWhile the Historic Site offers tours of the Old Burying Ground year-round\, Voices of the Past will have a twist. Guests will be grouped with an appointed “Burial Caretaker”\, who knows the ins and outs of the grounds and will lead them through this unique experience. As guests traverse through the grounds by mere lantern light\, they will find the Old Burying Ground quite literally coming to life. \nEight different burial sites of past Beaufort residents with eight unique stories will be a part of this tour. However\, instead of the “caretaker” sharing these stories\, those who have passed will tell their own stories. \nEach tour will last roughly an hour and will only welcome 150 guests\, so reserve your spot by time period soon. Tickets are on sale now by calling 252-728-5225 or visiting the Old Beaufort Shop\, located on the grounds of the Beaufort Historic Site at 130 Turner Street. \n  \nTickets are nonrefundable.

SUMMARY:Annual Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Members and prospective members are invited to join the Beaufort Historical Association for the Annual Membership Meeting and potluck dinner\, Tuesday\, January 21\, at 6 pm at St. Paul’s Church\, 215 Ann Street. This year’s meeting will feature a special program by Dr. Stan Rule about his research efforts to uncover and preserve the history of cabins\, cabin life\, and the owners/families who lived on the Southern Outer Banks as it relates to Beaufort families. As a retired pediatrician\, local historian\, and a new member of the BHA Board of Governors\, Stan is dedicated to preserving the personal stories and memories of those who once lived on Core Banks\, particularly in relation to the cabins and camps that were lost when the Cape Lookout National Seashore was established. \nAfter the program\, awards will be presented to our volunteers for 2024. Since 1986\, volunteer awards have been presented to individuals who have truly made the BHA the success it is today. The Association is blessed with hundreds of generous people who give their time and talents. Nominations are being accepted and submissions can be made by contacting the BHA at 130 Turner Street\, Beaufort. Nominations can also be made over the phone by calling 252-728-5225 or by emailing officemanager@beauforthistoricsite.org.

Robert began painting about a year ago and has been painting practically every day since he started. Just like Gosia\, Robert is originally from Poland as well. \nDon’t miss out on this show and the opportunity to take home one of their lovely pieces.
