In an effort to increase membership, the BHA opens the buildings of the Beaufort Historic Site for current and prospective members to explore, which allows them to see how the BHA uses membership dollars to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Beaufort and Carteret County.

Volunteer Orientation                                                                                                            

A two-day informative orientation for those interested in volunteering at the Beaufort Historic Site.  Anyone interested in historic preservation and research, student educational programs, driving a double-decker bus, leading tours, retail sales in the Gift Shop or helping with the many committees that are the backbone of the Association are welcome to attend.

An old-fashioned flea market on the Beaufort Historic Site with vendors selling antiques and collectibles, art, crafts, handmade jewelry, books, food and much more.  Vendor Information in available for this fun spring event.

6th Annual Beaufort Wine and Food Weekend                                                                

Great wine plus the food of coastal Carolina's finest restaurants are a perfect pairing.  Visit the quaint seaport town of Beaufort in grand style while attending tastings, seminars, dinners, wine and cheese pairings and much more.  Each year this event gets better and better, confirming the increasing appreciation of fine wines in North Carolina and around the country.  A not-to-be-missed culinary experience.  For more information, visit the Beaufort Wine and Food website.

Carteret County Arts & Crafts Coalition Spring Show                                                       

Juried sale of arts and crafts of coastal artisans held three weekends a year.  Held at the Beaufort Historic Site on Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day, and at another venue for a three-week show between Thanksgiving and Christmas, this is the perfect occasion to browse and buy the works of coastal artists and craftsmen.

50th Annual Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour                                                          

This 50th annual walking tour of private historic homes, gardens, churches and meeting halls is the last full weekend of June.  Private homes, Beaufort Historic Site buildings, the Old Burying Ground, narrated bus tours of the historic district, music concerts and an antique car show are all highlights of this signature event.

Antiques Show and Sale                                                                                                  

Held in conjunction with the Beaufort Old Homes and Gardens Tour, this event features more than 40 booths of antiques and collectibles, as well as a gourmet Tea Room at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City.

Come celebrate Beaufort Summers and the BHA's 50th Anniversary with a fabulous summer party at the Beaufort Historic Site.  Wonderful food, open bar, live music, live and silent auction with the proceeds benefiting the Beaufort Historical Association.

Semi-Annual Membership Meeting plus a picnic with all the trimmings to honor all those who volunteer for the Beaufort Historical Association and its many events and activities.  There will be a very brief business meeting, which includes the election of new Board of Governors members.

Harvest Time                                                                                                           

Demonstrations of Beaufort family life in the 1700s and 1800s will be featured in this Living History program designed specifically for fourth grade classes.  Children learn through hands-on activities about open hearth cooking, candle dipping, apple pressing, butter churning, spinning, weaving and food preservation techniques demonstrated by volunteers in period dress.

Fall Fundraising Party                                                                                                       

Gala fundraising party held in a beautiful Beaufort home featuring the works of a selected artist.  Artwork is available for purchase.

Kindergarten Thanksgiving

Similar to our Harvest Time, Kindergarten Thanksgiving is open for kindergarten classes. Children will visit the quaint Leffers Cottage to learn from Mr. Leffers and his family how they prepared for the winter months.  Students will see open hearth cooking, butter churning, weaving and spinning and will have a lively conversation with Mr. Leffers himself!

Jumble Sale

The Beaufort Historic Site turns into a community market with art, handmade crafts, holiday gifts, pre-loved treasures, antiques, clothing, food and much more. No admission fee. Vendor information is available.

A traditional turkey dinner is provided by some of the area’s finest restaurants. Served at the Beaufort Historic Site, dinners are available for take-out or to enjoy under our tent.

Coastal Carolina Christmas Walk

The Christmas Walk features tours of the Beaufort Historic Site buildings decorated in period fashion for Christmas. A special narrated holiday bus tour through the Historic District is available aboard the vintage British double-decker bus. Period seasonal music can be heard throughout the Historic Site. No admission charge for Christmas Walk, fee for bus tour.

Christmas Candlelight Tour

Another way to get ready for the holidays this year is to visit beautiful Beaufort homes all "dressed up" for the season.  See truly lovely decorations amid twinkling candlelight as you walk the festive streets of this quaint town and visit the inviting homes.  Don't miss it!
