We are busy as bees at the Beaufort Historic Site getting ready for the upcoming Fall Party, and we can’t wait to share all the details with you! We are so excited to welcome the Fall Party Artist,
Susan B. Hecht
Susan comes to Beaufort from Cary, NC where she has been painting since she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of arts. She continues her education by enrolling in as many classes as possible, “the wonderful thing about art is you can never stop growing and learning,” said Susan. Her paintings feature a warm, inviting palette with energetic brush strokes to create a timeless composition that captures the beauty of everyday life and objects. Susan has the special talent of looking beyond the canvas to set goals for her career, “I’ve learned to keep it simple, be mindful, focus on what’s important and all else will fall into place.” Susan’s has been featured many times before for her beautiful work. Her first show was in Charleston in 2007 and since then she has been very busy making appearances in a host of other states!
We are also excited to announce that Susan will host a two day workshop, October 14th and 15th from 10 am to 4 pm at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Students will participate in exercises such as color mixing and values, and can look forward to painting a mixture of still lives and photographs. The workshop fee is $250 per student and due to very limited class size, reservations are required and may be made by calling the Beaufort Historic Site at 252-728-5225
