The Mattie King Davis Art Gallery will welcome talented artist Jimmy Black as the featured artist for the months of April and May beginning with an opening reception in his honor on Thursday, April 6 from 5-7 pm.
Jimmy Black was born in Richmond, Virginia. He attended school at Episcopal High School before studying at UNC Chapel Hill. Mr. Black worked in banking at Wachovia for 40 years before retiring to rekindle his love for painting. He and his wife split their time between Raleigh and Carteret County. Join the Beaufort Historical Association in welcoming Jimmy Black to the gallery.
The Mattie King Davis Art Gallery, located in the historic Rustell House c.1732 on the Beaufort Historic Site, is the oldest art gallery in Carteret County.
